NXDN™ Forum Moving Towards Interoperability Testing
Suwanee, GA - February 12, 2010 - The NXDN™ Forum announced today
that during their last meeting that the Forum was well on the way to
implementing Interoperability and Conformance testing procedures for
NXDN™ products.
These procedures are similar in nature to the recently completed APCO
Project 25 CAP testing program. That is to ensure that products from
multiple manufacturers based on the NXDN™ air interface protocol will
interoperate with each other. A product that successfully passes the
testing process will then be considered compliant with the
Interoperability and Conformance requirements, allowing that product to
display the NXDN™ logo indicating this compliance.
With the implementation of these testing procedures, the NXDN™ Forum is
aiming to create an environment to assure current and future end users
of NXDN™ technology that they can expect products they purchase from any
NXDN™ manufacturer will interoperate with each other.
The NXDN™ Forum was established in July, 2008, and currently has a
membership of 13 companies from the Land Mobile Radio industry. These
members include Kenwood Corporation, Icom Incorporated, Kenwood USA
Corporation, Icom America Incorporated, Aeroflex Wichita Inc., Daniels
Electronics Ltd., Ritron Inc., Trident Datacom Technologies, Inc. d/b/a
Trident Micro Systems, Anritsu Company, CML Microsystems Plc, Etherstack
Ltd., General Dynamics SATCOM Technologies and Meteor Communications
Corporation, Inc.
The Forum was established for the promotion of the NXDN™ digital air
protocol for use with 6.25 kHz and 12.5 kHz narrowband technology.
